This is a video I made way back with a dear friend of mine. Derrick Brown lost his life skating. We were best friends and this video means a lot to me. It was a video to test some effects when I was first learning AE, but now it means so much more. Derrick is still one of my biggest inspirations, thank you for everything.
A promotional piece I made for the Silver & Pixels Student Exhibition. I won Best of Show this year.
I made this for a promotional piece for the Silver & Pixels Student Exhibition. The boxes is the "Jay James Dimensional Portrait" I created. It won Best of Show!
I made this time lapse after buying my first lens 10-22mm ef-s for my Canon t3i. First lens on my first camera. I was visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Ramstein, Germany where they were stationed. I love to look back and see the progress I've made from when I first started.
This is an animation I made for Sacramento rapper Chuuwee. I met him through a buddy of mine and fell in love with his work. This was my first animation project. We couldn't add sound when we presented it, but now I want to add his music. Check out Chuuwee
A selfie I took to test out the 50mm 1.2 Canon FD attached to my Canon 6D. It's not a bad lens, but it looks a lot better shooting film! I believe this is because the sensor on my 6D is too sensitive with this lens, and halo'ing happens depending on the type of light and aperture.
This video was shot when I was just a wee lad. My buddies TK and Derrick wanted to make a video, so we made this in one day. It doesn't really make sense, but it sorta does. Le Art!
This was an animation exercise on hand movement. I added color and the woke eye. Enjoy.
This is Lea's first time in the studio. I she think did a great job.
This stop motion was made when I was in high school. I remember wanting to do something different, so I made a long exposure stop motion. It's crazy how long I've been doing this. It makes me appreciate the school I went to and the people who helped me along the way. Thank you, Max Jeffrey, for helping me that night!
This is an animation of a self-portrait I made to show hue change on a black and white image.
I met Osee and his girlfriend (both from Germany) at a bar called Altitude one night in San Diego. After talking for awhile his girlfriend insisted on me photographing Osee the next morning, being they're flight was the next day. I spent all day showing him around and shooting. This was his first time modeling. Hopefully, he gets some work in Germany.
